Super vulnerable post but one I feel called to share.

I intentionally asked my family to take ‘sneaky’ photos on our holiday if they noticed a moment to capture.
🤍
I’m often the one taking the photos and have very few of me with the girls.
🤍
Then, when I was scrolling through photos that my mum and sister sent me from this holiday, do you want to hear my initial thoughts?
“Oh man, look at that cellulite!”
“I look so pale in that one.”
“That’s a bad angle.”
“Wow, I’ve definitely put on weight”
“Ugh, I look so plain without makeup on!”
🤯 Sorry, brain? What did you say?”
Then I laughed. I laughed at my mind. It comes up with some crazy thoughts 😉

Then I looked again, like really looked…
“My body has changed and I am so proud of everything it has done and continues to do.”
“I will embrace every part of me, cellulite and all.”
“I am teaching my children positive self-talk and body image.”
“Look at my gorgeous family.”
“I love the way Chloe snuggles into me when she’s having a hard time.”

~ So next time your mind starts telling you all the negative things…
~ Laugh.
~ Laugh at all the crazy things your mind is trying to tell you.
~ Ask yourself - is this something I would say to my best friend?
~ Is that what you want your child to think about themselves?

Oh and ask people to take photos. The best ones are when you don’t know they’re being taken. Let your children see moments of you as a mother. Real, raw and natural moments. They’ll thank you for it when they’re older 😘
